“My wife and I had the privilege to stay with Mel and Jeff Sillince of Chartwell House, from Wednesday 30 December until Saturday, 9 January 2021. We thoroughly enjoyed their hospitality and professional disposition. This includes the tasty and very adequate breakfasts, sometimes even dinners with them, good company, and padkos baskets made by Mel with love and attention to detail (not surprising seeing that she’s had years of experience in the hospitality industry). They displayed a constant willingness to assist in making our stay pleasant including making sure that our room, linen and towels were clean. They make good recommendations for activities to undertake including day trips along the west coast, game drives, deep sea fishing, restaurants to dine at and coffee shops to visit. Their home was purpose built as a bed and breakfast establishment and is stylishly painted, decorated and practically furnished. The rooms are adequate, the bathrooms modern, the rooms have external sliding doors for private entrance and exit and the internal common areas are spacious and they have a lovely stoep to sit on while pondering the sunset in the late afternoons. They have unlimited internet wi-fi (at no extra cost), adequate on-site secure parking (we took two bikes along and these were parked in their lock-up garage while our vehicle and trailer were also parked inside the property). We were sad to leave but all good things come to an end. We will definitely visit them again and can recommend them to anybody wishing to stay over along the West Coast.” – G & H Nel

Chartwell House is a beautiful guest house situated in a quiet, secure neighbourhood in the heart of the Port Owen marina. Melanie and Jeff have created a stunning guest house with beautifully appointed rooms and gardens. The rooms are beautifully finished, tastefully decorated, impeccably clean and welcoming, the breakfasts a delicious treat, and the hosts warm, attentive, friendly. We felt totally at home.
